Region's delegates stay in office
Rob Bell, R-Albemarle County, easily fended off a challenge from Democrat Cynthia Neff on Tuesday in one of the Charlottesville region's most closely watched House of Delegates races. Neff, a former IBM executive who moved to Albemarle County in 2006, could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Aim of service shows depth
From the young candidate campaigning as a write-in, to the other independent voices, to the men and women who have won party nomination, these people believe in the democratic process. “I believe one person can make a difference, House of Delegates candidate Cynthia Neff told us, echoing the views of many with whom we spoke.

Mailer highlighted issues
Mailer highlighted issues. From the beginning, I knew that this campaign would be an uphill battle. Rob Bell has money to burn, and voters have very little information about how he votes in Richmond. What I never expected was that I would be attacked

58th District lucky that Neff wants job
Citizens of the 58th District are privileged that Cynthia Neff is running for Rob Bell's seat in the House of Delegates. Cynthia is not a lawyer or professional politician. Cynthia has met with voters in Albemarle County many times - always exhibiting gracious professionalism and a sincere interest in the needs of others.

Neff won't say no to higher taxes
I had the opportunity to watch the recent televised debate between Cynthia Neff and Rob Bell. Of course, Ms. Neff is calling for lots of new spending on her Web site, so it only follows that she would be for higher taxes, too. In this recession, we can't afford higher taxes like those Ms. Neff would support.

Bell is all he seems
Cynthia Neff's campaign assertion that “Rob Bell is just like a cheating husband who gets away with it has made it impossible for me to remain silent. I hope the 58th District will turn out en masse to vote for Rob and show Ms. Neff that her dishonest campaign tactics and personal attacks are not welcome here.

Neff campaign piece is a grasping at straws
Neff campaign piece is a grasping at straws. The campaign piece I received in Oct. 20's mail from Cynthia Neff against Rob Bell was one of the worst I have seen in 38 years of voting. Neff mailer is indefensible
Cynthia Neff's abhorrent mailer comparing her opponent's votes to the immorality of a cheating husband cannot go unchallenged. Understand: Ms. Neff is not saying that Rob Bell is a cheating husband; she is saying that he acts like a cheating husband. And it is therefore impracticable as a campaign strategy: As could have been expected, the backlash against the over-the-top, below-the-belt attack is turning voters away from the Neff camp.
